Hello,
my name is Karen, although I have answered to "Red"
most of my life. I was born in Wellington, KS. and have lived
most of my life in some area of Kansas. My husband of 43 years
and I moved to Lawrence, KS in 1976 and still reside there.
I have two sons and three wonderful grandchildren. I started
scrap booking in 1978 when my oldest son graduated from high
school. The football team had gone undefeated all through
Junior High and High School so I put a scrapbook together
of all the memorabilia from those 6 years. That was in the
day when you had to design all of your own embellishments.
The scrapbook industry has certainly come a long way since
then. He valued his scrapbook so much that I continued to
put scrapbooks together for my other son and grandchildren.
I
was putting recipes together for my son’s wives and
decided to combine my love for scrap booking with their husbands
favorite recipes. Then I couldn’t find the books to
put them in so I decided to design my own. They have been
such a hit that I decided to share them with you. I thrive
on new challenges and love designing.
Our happiest memories of family gatherings are of grandma’s
chicken and noodles or Mom’s delicious chocolate cake.
That memory from childhood is instilled in us forever. Family
members carry on the tradition by passing down recipes from
generation to generation. . And so that tradition it carried
on every holiday or family gathering, which makes them so
special. So why not drag out all of those dog-eared recipe
cards or napkins with recipes written on them, combine them
with old photographs of people who gave them to you, family
members, or the person whose favorite recipes you are compiling
and I will make you a one of a kind family cookbook.
